One LGBT Brazilian Murdered Every 26 Hours In 2012
A new study by Grupo Gay de Bahia finds that there were 338 murders of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals in Brazil in 2012.
The gay rights advocacy group estimates that Brazil is home to 44% of all homophobic murders in the world.
Grupo Gay de Bahia notes that the number may be higher as LGBT related hate crimes are not always reported.
